The birth of Zoë-Jane

Post by AmyJill on Sat 4 Jul 2009 - 9:36

Smile :Yes Smiley Hello ladies . So I was booked for 8 o clock and had to be at the hospital at 6am, could not sleep the night before , was nervous as hell and mostly also because theo kept waking me up asking me whether I was awake ( WEL IF I WAS NOT I SURE AM NOW THAT YOU WOKE ME) we got up, showered, got dressed and off we went, the medi clinic is just about 3 minutes drive so luckily not far. Got there , booked in, put my bags and things away and got into those ridiculous hospital robes lol, :Wait So the wait bagan. First got put onto the monitor thinga ma jig to monitor Zoë's heart etc etc. Theo and I were talking about the weirdest things like how she was probably gonna look like a ape with all the hair( we are both so hairy!!). Anyhoo they came in to wheel me into the theatre , I was first pushed into the waiting thingy , laying there on my stretcher thinga ma bob (by this time i had memorised the entire nursing staffs weekly schedule) felt like i was laying there forever!! and then they took theo away to get dressed into his dr outfit ( He just look so cute in it !) I wondere why he stayed away so long and when he came back he told me he had the runs!! shame man lol. And in we went. Forst stop anesthetist for the spinal block. He asked theo to stand infront of me and for me to put my arms over his shoulder and lean forward, it just went so quick i did not feel a thing i think mainly because theo and were talking the entire time , it was just like there was no one else there. I think when you start stressing you tend to realise whats really happening and then the sh*t hits the fan!!!I started feeling very warm in my lower body and then the spinal started kicking in! In came the catheter , which in all honesty was not painful either just a bit uncomfy, just felt like someone was pressing really hard on my bladder (which was actually the case lol) In we went to the theatre where my gynay and his assistant ( both very handsome men) were waiting for me, screen got put upand off they went , I kept asking theo to tell me what they were doing and all he could say was , It really does not look that bad, he was staring at them pulling and tugging on my tummy the whole time like he was enjoying it lol (remind me not to let him near me with a knife!!) Oh my I could feel how they were pulling me around but not a painful pull more like someone is pulling your entire ponytail , not painful just pully lol (cant find a word sorry!) AND within ten minutes there she was! with a pair of lungs on her, the first thing doc asked me was whether I had lots of heartburn, could not understand why he asked that until i saw her lots of hair wow!!!! She and theo went with the nurse to get weighed and the first thing he did when he saw her was smile very proudly and point to his eyebrows (theo has the thickest unibrow i have ever seen ) and much to my dismay and his amusement zoë had inherited that lol . Off they went to the baby room and I got stitched up and wheeled away ....... Well the rest is history or lets rather say i wish it was (especially the part where the nurses washed my nookie!!) There it is , not a very interseting or glam story but most definitely the greatest day of my life!!! The day I achieved my greatest accomplishment
