I'm tired

Post by ELAINE on Tue 15 Sep 2009 - 12:43

Shoe I can't keep my eyes open anymore. Every night just gets worse with Carmen and Bjorn. When they woke up for a feed at 12:00 last night, Carmen wouldn't stop crying and eventually she woke up Bjorn and he didn't want to sleep anymore also. Then their screeming woke up Tiaan in his room and he was in bed with us. So it was all five of us in our bed eventually, and I was just to tired to complain. Carmen has such a blocked nose, we've tried everything but it's just not getting better. Thanks for listening :Sad

Shame Elaine its not easy in the beginning. Have you tried saline drops for her nose? I used the Bennets one which comes with a nasal aspirator.

Oh shame Elaine - I feel for you. Unfortunately I don't have any advice - for us by 3 months things suddently got miraculously a whole lot better - but it was tough in the beginning.

It is very tough, at one point I wondered what the point was of going to bed as I would be up all the time anyway!

It does get better and better though, hang in there!

If you can afford it we got a night nurse to help for the odd nights just to get some sleep. The blocked nose is the worst, we elevated the end of the bed and used a nose frida to try suck the worst out so they could sleep.

Also my secret trick is a pilates ball you hold them and bounce on it a. you don't get so tired standing and rocking them b. they find the motion hard to resist. C. you can close your eyes and do it.

Thanks for all the advice! I took her too the physio twice now. can't believe all the noddies that they sucked out off her nose.
Yes Paulae I was thinking the same last night, I don't know why I even go to bed. I'm just glad to hear that it will get better at some stage!

No it do get better Elaine. I struggled until their actual age was 12 weeks and from there is jsut got better, you still have you odd days but you can sleep and breath again. I still have to warm up my food for a second time but that is all part of having twins!!

Mine started sleeping through at 6 months, since then everything has been "normal" again. Except for the "trek" when we go out...

Yes - can so identify with that. My hubby thinks all the preparation just "happens" - ie the other day we were going to my dad's for dinner so there was a whole pile of baby stuff at the door - he says "do we need all this stuff?" so I said - "well what part of it do you want to leave behind?"
