Weird AF and an update on the Medical bill

Post by Mandy-Leigh on Wed 23 Sep 2009 - 20:46

AF arrived yesterday, some light red blood. Then nothing during the night and then some brown blood this morning. All gone now! Seeing that I want to take a break I started Yasmin last night. Maybe that is what made AF disappear? Anyhow, I want to start the Ciplatrim (the generic for Reductil, because Reductil WAAAYYYY to expensive at R696 per month) , but how can I be sure that was definitely my AF and not just some spotting. My Beta was only 1, so I know I am not pregnant.

I have some other good news as well.... it seems my medical aid has paid some of the doctors bill and they will be settling an amount on the second cycle next week. Yay!! Seems I will only have to pay in on the Gonal F, which will be about R1200. They are even paying the Pregnyl, at R550 per shot! Plus I having been praying everyday that God would supply us with the money, so I was elated when I got an e-mail from the MA stating the payments they have already made, BUT then my dad also offered to help us with the rest of the amount that is still due. due. God really is awsome, and even though I didn't get my BFP, I know He knows what is best for us at this stage.

Well mine has been MIA for over two weeks now. I think they might be sipping mojito's on a tropical island somewhere Mands.

I'm so glad the money situation has been sorted out. It just goes to show, everything in His time and with His love.

Mandri, mine is back as well, but still not a constant flow. More of a brown clotted business every now and then, funny though, last month I almost admitted myself to hospital because I was in such pain, and this month I have had zero pain, and almost no PMS feeling.
Well, I am on the Yasmine now and yesterday I decided to pack up the whole nursery. Not becuase I have given up or anything, but because all the stuff are just accumalating (sp) dust. The pram, the camp cot, the snug and safe, it's all accumalating dust and I would like to keep it all shiny and new. So this weekend I am going to fold up the pram, store it back in it's box, do the same with the camp cot and the other stuff. The bed linen and cot linen will go in the wash and then straight to the linen cupboard. It feels so good actually. Maybe I am only coming to terms with Hayleigh's death now, or maybe I am just moving on from this TTC hell. Either way it feels good. I feel free for the first time in 3 years.

I have goosebums while reading this. Mandy I think it was a good thing to pack up the nursary, not only getting to terms with the lost but to help you also. Liek you say, you feel free for the first time.

God is awesome and things will just get better and soon, very soon you will be a mommy without any problems at all. Think we myst bless you at the get together and heal your womb and then you gonna see miracles!!!

Love

Mandy im so glad you are feeling so much better and on the financial front - i tried reductil before but it did nothing for me so i started duramine which helped the weight come off - in fact i was still on it when i found out i was pregnant which scared me but all worked out. Perhaps that 10% weight loss was what my body needed to help me fall pregnant ill never know. I think im going to go back on duramine again - good luck with the diet!

Hi Hope

The Recutil is teriibly expensive, so I have decided to go on Ciplatrim. Apparently it's exactly the same as the reductil. Haven't started it yet, first need to ween myself from the anti-depressants. How is the Duramine different from the Reductil? The Reductil costs R696 for 30, while the Ciplatrim costs R253. Is suramine also that expensive?

Sure will do so.

The Reductil is quite expensive - R700 per month, but the Ciplatrim is a generic and costs about R250 per month. It works on your nervous system and tricks your brain to make you feel full all the time.
There is also Ectiva, but it is also quite expensive, and it also contains the same ingredients. What is very important is that you cannot use any mood altering drugs like anti-depros while on the diet pills.
You also need a doctors prescription, but anyone with a BMI or higher qualifies.
