Did you ever think about this?????????????
How many nappies you have changes?
How many bottle you have washed and sterilize?
How many formula tins you are using?
My babies are 205 days old ( 6 months and 20 days old)
I have used over 40 Tins of 900gr Isomil milk (not to talk about the Nan Ha and Nan)
I have changed over 2640 nappies
I have washed over 2049 bottles

Oh my goodness - that is scary! Someone once asked me what I spent on nappies and I said "I have no idea - am too scared to work it out!"

Wendy I am also too scared to look at what we pay, so I buy when it is finished then it doesn't look so much as to buy it all at once for the month.
Joleen I spend +- R2000.00 on nappies and formula per month and then I look for nappy specials and only buy the formula at Chekers hyper of Shoprite R96 per tin, pick 'n pay, spar and woolies ask over R100 for the same tine

Melanie, I buy my formula at Clicks cause this way I can get points and vouchers back. Fortunately, I can buy the big tins of Nan (1.8kg at R177 v 900g tin at R100). Nappies, Baby Boom seems cheap and always has specials.
Re: Did you ever think about this?????????????
Hey - yes, it would be quite a surprise to realize how much we spend!!!
We stocked up quite a bit on nappies during the pregnancy, so our expenses this year were very few on nappies, we only ended up buying nappies this year when the "particular sizes ran out" .... and even now we only buy specials.... so far the best specials were the P&P hypermarkets Pampers MEGA boxes for R299 (150 nappies for Nr#3, 132 nappies for Nr#4)
And the formula.... well thats a whole different ball game. One 900g tin of S26Gold lasts me 4 days, and cost R120. 7 to 8 tins per month. So its R900-R1000 per month only on the formula, which means it cost us close to R6000 so far just on formula
I like the idea of checking per month how much, many nappies and formula you used and then comparing notes at the end of the month. Would be fun!!
Oh, and bottles washed & sterilized - i think if i start calculating this i will be so shocked and probably faint!!! The figure that Melanie gave is already very frightening!!
But lets try....
First 3 months (6-7 feedings a day) = Plus minus 1260 bottles washed & sterilized...
Next 3 months (5-6 feedings a day) = Plus minus 1100 bottles washed & sterilized...
So in total its around 2360 bottles washed & sterilized!! Wow. No wonder my nails are so flimsy and fragile !!
Have fun this week washing and sterilizing bottles, changing nappies and enjoying your little angels!!
