This made me ANGRY!!

So we went to a kids' party the weekend, and as usual the twins got a lot of attention - "Oh are the twins blah blah blah" ect etc.

Anyway, this one chick asks me if they are mine, I say yes, and she says "Shame". As in, poor you for having twins!!!!!!!!!!!

Good grief! She was millimeters from a smack let me tell you! Firstly, what does she know about twins?? No twins, NO OPINION!
Secondly, how dare she COMISSERATE on my miracles! How can anyone be so callous??

Sure the girls are a lot of physical work, but one gets used to it, and they are more than double the joy!

I think people under estimate the power of having Twins. I think they think you need to have a nanny always because you are not capible to look after them. I just tell them the Lord will not give me twins if I was not able to handle them. I wish they can just keep their comments for themselves.

You get use to do everything double and have alot of nappies, bottles and everything but I will not change everything in the world for my twins. I can't imagine my life without them.

Oooooh - I get so furious when people make comments like that! One lady , after gaping at mine said - "oh shame - double the work!" whereas I replied "not at all - we feel very blessed and they are double the joy"!

On the other hand, some people are so nice - I was pushing my twins in their double pram round the fleamarket a few weeks ago and this lady looked at them in that indulgent way that people tend to look at twins with and said " oh - boy and girl twins - you are so very lucky" to which I replied with a proud smile on my face "I know"!

Paulae it would've made me just as furious. Even now while still pregnant I get so cross when people hear we are expecting twins and make comments like - "Shame, poor you." or "I don't know how you are going to manage since I struggle with just one."

I know it will not be a walk in the park but I feel blessed and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

Zellie let me tell you, in the beginning it is really tuff and you lack sleep and feel like you can do this on your own but as soon as you get the hang of it and get use to the babies, they are awesome to have.

They are really a blessing and it is so wonderful to see them develop and that smile in the morning - it is heartbreaking.

But I must say that normally the older people will tell you how blessed you are or I had a woman who only have boys and said that I am very blessed to have 2 girls.

I would have been rather with her. People like her are jealous of people like us.

I don't know I would have said thank you for understanding and not telling me how you wish for twins. I had dinner with a good friend who has twin girls 18 months now and we were comiserating over hospital stays. Her girls have been admitted 6 times each this year and with twins it is harder than with one, as who looks after the twin that has not been admitted?
So I think some times it is shame. But it has its perks too!!!

Sheesh! I am no expert when it comes to twins, but I have seen some of my friends with their twins, yes from what I gather its really hard work,(like with any child) specially in the beginning, but now when I see my J & N (my friends twins) running and play (they turn 3 in Jan) I sometimes wonder, aint it better to have twins, get through the tough months and then just enjoy seeing your kids play with each other? Any baby is a blessing, but twins are double blessings! and I believe that multiple mommies are hand picked!!

Id do anything to get twins.u are blessed my darling.dont let anything get to you.
