Thembelihle's 1st day!

hello you all, some of you may not remember me. but hey im back 10 months later. I have not been able to access the net particularly this website.

My birth story

It was a sunday, last day of my 40th week. I started to feel some cramps but i thought it was just discomfort. Hubby and I ttced that afternoon and took me to my mom's for whatever reason. At night the contractions started to get strong. I was so nervous, i simply called my mom and she said lets get to the hospital. my last scan 36th week, had showed that the baby was too small infact underweight and that i had too much water. so that is why i was rushed to the hospital at the start of my contractions. at the hospital the sister checked me and told me that baby has not engaged and my cervix was not open yet. The contractions were coming every 5 minutes for 10-20 seconds long (not very painful). So they told me to go back home and take it easy.

I slept that night but did still felt the contractions. Day 2 was still the same, hubby took me to her sister who happens to be a nursing sister at one of the government hospital. She checked me and said I was only 1cm dilated and said i should prepare for the worst. I went back home again and did not sleep that night. the pains were too strong for me to fall asleep. The following day I stayed at home still with strong contractions but not too strong as i was able to do a number of things. I went to bed on day 3 Tuesday night. At night the pain got worse and i called hb to take me to th ehospital and he said he will but in the morning and i was crying. mind you i havenot slept in three nights. on wednesday 3rd december, he took me toth ehospital i was admitted and only 2cm dilated. it was not happening but the doctor was determined to make it a natural one. so i stayed fo another night, this last night i was vomiting thru out the night and was walking around the room, couldnot eat or drink anything and at 3am my water broke and ouch the pains were terrible. i felt thirsty but couldnot drink, i was hot but not sweating the extent to which the pains were excriciating is unexplainable.

Day 4 at around 10 am another doctor came in in place of my doctor, and gues what he said this was not right, so i had to be operated immediately or me and baby die. because of the pain and the state i was in i was put to sleep at 10:45a.m and by 12noon i heard someone calling my name, it was like a dream. mind i hanot slept in 4 nights. so i couldnot wake up. he caled my name endlessly until i finally responded at about 12:45pm and opened my eyes. i regret doing that as i felt a terrible burning pain on my abdomen. I was shown pictures of my baby boy Thembelihle, and taken to my room30 minutes later. luckily i didnot have to share that room. guess what the nurse on duty told me to stand up and go change my pad 3 hrs after getting to my room imagine. it took me 45 minutes to get out of that bed.

otherwise Lihle and I are doing just fine. he recently turned 10 months im yet to post a pic for you all to see.
