my boys were born on the 15th april and I have a Kian so it is almost fate Kian and Kiana hehehe!!

Did you have trouble deciding on names?

Hey, so nice to chat to everyone again. I managed to find time again yesterday to get back onto the web and getting updated on all the happenings over December!

It is so much fun to have so many of us who had our kids more or less at the same time so that we can compare notes (although i know we are all different and all of you had premmies.... where mine were the only full term ones)

But its just to nice to be "back"

Well, i have always been different - always wanting my way to be different to others - so it was always my dream that my kids must have different yet "interesting " names - not common names... So i had a list of names, but when it came to deciding on the names, hubby did not like any of the names i had.... Names that i had were like: Sharé, Dante, Tinita, Zaré, Danita, Nikita, Dané..... well hubby just said no...
So as the pregnancy progressed i said to hubby that i got a new name... I love the name Nika, so lets call one twin Danika. And he liked it!!
Then when i was around 25 weeks, i was looking in CUM books for a book as Christmas present... And as i was reading this one new book's preview the main character's name was Kihana, and i called hubby and said that i have the 2nd twins name.... we will call her a plain and simple Kiana. And he loved it. Then since Kiana is a easy straightforward spelling i decided to make Danika interesting and changed the K to C. So she is Danica. And in short i call her Nica. So thats the history of the girl's names.... and later on i realized that by chance their names do sound a little bit like the grannies. The one granny is Marianne (almost like Kiana) and the other granny is Alida (almost like Danica). But i know you need a bit of imagination...

I have tried yesterday to add pics but i struggled.... is there like a gallery where i can put photos?

I was the same as you I wanted different names for my boys, but being boys I could not go as way out as I would have if they were girls. So we struggled to find uncommon common names. But my DH was also impossible he vetoed so many names I was getting frustrated. We also decided they could not have the same name as anyone we knew well.

After going through many ridiculous Irish names (cause we like them and my dad is Irish) - like Branouigh and such we came up with a short list of 8 and when they were born we looked at them and named them. Funnily though Kian was my first choice from early on. another fav was Cameron but there are too many around at the moment.

Nice to see you back here. Maybe one day we should organise a twinnies get together??

that would be lovely Kerry. I know most of you are from Jo-burg, but we can always arrange for some "halfway" stop. I know Melanie is also in Pretoria (so i am not the only one). lets start looking at the possibility still in the first couple of months of this year before the funny "global warming" autumn weather starts making things difficult to go out with the kids. maybe a Saturday in Feb or March... Lets see what the other ladies have to say about the idea!

To add the pics - on your toolbar just above the reply blokc you will get a icon with a stiffy on, click on it and there you go. If you browse the pic upload it, you will go to a next screen with different option as to the sixe of the pic - choose on (copy) click on upload then go to the reply block, right click and paste (your lick of the photo will appear and just click send and your photo is posted!

I have always loved the Danica, and I must say Kiana is lovely and goes well with her sister's name!

I was also thinking a twin get together would be cool. We are overseas on the 27th of Feb, so please not then!

Ok ladies, that makes it easy..... now we are left only with 3 dates....

i must be having a bad day with this picture thing.
I manage to get to the point where you have to choose the size, then i click on "Host it", and then a screen appears with 3 different picture options to copy and upload. Image, Image URL and Thumbnail. I tried to do COPY on each one of them and then upload, but when i then go to reply message box the paste option is not available.....
i must be sounding so stupid... being an IT lady and not being able to figure this out....

That is such a nice idea. I will vote for 6 March or even 20 March since Feb. is going to be a busy month for me. Will be so nice to finally meet you all.
