Medical Aid paybacks after adoption?

Post by tracyg on Mon 1 Feb 2010 - 16:21

Is there such thing?

Does medical aid (obviously depending who you with) "refund" any of the money you spent on the birthing fees or anything? Maybe even if its only after the 60 days are up... huh

No Tracy unfortunately none of the birthing costs can be claimed from the medical aid. You can only claim medical expenses for your child once he/she has been put on your medical aid. Some medical aids take longer than others to register adopted childern.

Yup, Mich is right. And we could also not claim Jaedin's costs because the bills were in the SW's name because of the whole anonymity thing so the MA wouldn't pay for something that wasn't in my DH's name..... So, to make a long story short, we paid for absolutely everything!
