Kaelyn's birth
Ok where to start.
Ended up with a c-sec as she had moved from coming out the "hole" to trying to either get out my hip or appendix scar, so the Dr said c-sec, which I was greatful for as I was so uncomfy I didn't know what to do with myself (but think we must give her a GPS for her 1st birthday)! So after a mad rush when we got home telling everyone and all and not sleeping well at all, the following morning we went to the hospital at 6:00 and op was due for 7:15! So went in slowly and next thing I am being shaved ... couldn't reach ther to do it myself and the anethatist came to check and next thing I was being wheeled into theater and Dh was in his hospital scrubs and I had the epidural insterted ... and then the catheter, thank goodness I couldn't feel that ... but I was laying there like a stuffed turkey .... bad .... but I was in such a daze, next thing I am shaking madly and they said that was normal and put a heater thing in bed with me. Dh arrived and next thing they were cutting and the anethetist was saying you doing so well and I hear G say your daughter is about to arrive and this little grey frog came out and let the world know she was unhappy to leave her nice warm home. Man did she scream for ages, it was good to know she was so vocal. The gynae said wow she is bigger than we thought! She was then plopped onto my chest for a bit, photo's were taken .. I just looked at her and thought ... oh my word ... she is mine? She came out of me? Then off Dh tootled with the pediatrician and my angel. I thought I was there for ages being sewed back up, bit was only 30 min, the Gynae says to me, you had 1 healthy little girl, 3.8kg, I was like what, he said we were quite out weren't we. Yup a whole 400g out in the heavier direction. I went to recovery and shivered like a maniac for ages. Was nasty, thought I am sure I am going to die and not see my baby, but it went away as soon as I saw her.
Went back to my room and Dh came in and they wheeled Kaelyn into my room. I was in such a daze, but so amazed by this 3.8kg, 52cm baby with a head circ of 35 born at 7:13am! How the hell did she fit in me?????????? I was big, but not so big!
They put her on my boob soon thereafter and she latched like she had been doing it all her life .... what a pro!
I was in a drug induced haze for the next few days.
She was only in new born baby grows for 1 week and length wise she is soon going to be out of 0 - 3 month, even though they baggy around her middle and she is only 4 weeks!
Really thought I would go into the story of my birth more when it was happening, but 4 weeks later, it is a blur ...
PS: - The sorest part of the Epidural was when they put alcohol on my back to clean it and were a bit over zelous and it ran down into my um crack and stung like hell
