My very delayed birth story

On Wed, 3 Feb I went to work as usual. I got there and just didn't feel right, could feel my BP was high so went to see the nurse at work and BP was high. Called Dr and he said come in right away. Hubby was stuck in traffic on his way to work so I drove to the hospital on my own. Dr checked and BP was too high. Checked LO's heart rate and heart beat was very erratic. He sent me over to maternity to be admitted right away. They checked my BP and baby's heartbeat every 4 hours. All seemed fine on Thursday morning and dr started preparing to send me back home, however, things turned again quickly. Baby was in trouble, there was very little blood going through the cord because of my high BP. He decided to deliver the next day ut didn't know what time would be available. On Friday, 5 Feb at 14h45 my little girl was born. When dr cut the cord there was so little blood that he said if we'd waited any longer my little girl would have been stillborn. I am so grateful I had a cautious dr and that my little girl was fine and healthy. She only weighed 2.2 kg, even smaller than my elder daughter but she was fine. She stayed in my room with me...I really was expecting to spend endless days in the NICU as I did with my first. It was such a wonderful experience, none of the stress of the first delivery. I did have fear that things would change and they would take my baby away to the ICU while I was in hospital or wouldn't let me take her home but all is well. She will be a month old tomorrow, can't believe how fast the time is going.

Glad everything turned out well Stix and that your precious little girl is ok! My little Boy was born on Monday 8 Feb and things were also very touch and go just before I delivered him as his heart rate spiked to 210bmp becos i broke out into a high temp...i havent posted my birth story yet but I will soon as mine is also long over due, my little boy will be 5 weeks on Monday already and you are right time sure does fly!
