New Here :-)
Hi There
A friend of mine (KerryW) told me about the forum ... so I thougth I'd come and check it out.
My twin girls (Kelsey and Cailyn) will be turning 2 on the 2nd of April and my son (Kieran) will be 4 on 1st August.
My twins were 7 and a bit weeks prem, Kelsey was 1.8kg (spent 4 weeks in NICU) and Cailyn was 1.6kg (spent 5 weeks in NICU). They have both been in and out of hospital in paeds since then, but it is definitely getting better as they are getting bit older. Kelsey is now 11.5kg and Cailyn is 9.7kg.
Look forward to chatting to you guys ... some of you may know me from the old MBB days (TamMcK) and I still chat alot on (MCKT) (have been on mommy since Kieran was a tiny baby).
Cheers
Tam

Re: New Here :-)
Hi and welcome !
I am fairly new here but love it already, great to meet so many twin moms.
I think that we may have a very close age gap, my oldest was four in March and Jason and Grant were two in October, the age gap is 19 months

Re: New Here :-)
Thanks for the welcome everyone. DJG yip our gap is very similar ... mine is exactly 20 months and 1 day. My twin girlies were born 7 and a bit weeks prem (just under 33 weeks) ... my pregnancy was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster because although my second pregnancy was planned the twins definitely werent (they were naturally conceived) and although I wanted a close age gap between No1 and No2 I definitely didnt plan for a No3 :-) Anyway I went into labour at 27 weeks, was admitted to hospital for 3 weeks, had a stitch in my cervix at 30 weeks and was on strict bedrest at home (difficult with a toddler running around you) for the rest of the time. My littlest girlie Cailyn (1.6kg) was on a cpap for 9 days when she was born, had fluid in her lungs and was born with congenial pneumonia, Kelsey (1.8kg) breathed on her own ~ so the 4 doses of steriods helped one of them. Kelsey was in NICU for 4 weeks and Cailyn for 5 weeks and well the rest of the year that followed was a bit of a nightmare. Between them the girls were re-admitted to paeds 12 times between May and November with recurrent pneumonia, then rotavirus, then adenovirus, then both got grommets ... then they went onto a prophylatic antibiotic for 1 year. Last year they were admitted to paeds 7 times between them and this year each has had one admission so far and Cailyn is almost onto her 3rd set of grommets.
Im a pseudo-paed these days .... given that I have 3 asthmatic children. Kelsey also had tonsilitis 12 times last year so she is going to be having her tonsils out this year ... hopefully after September if we manage.
My "babies" turn 2 on friday this week .... And wow what a journey these past two years have been.
TFR
Love Tam
