Re: Update

Hi, thanks for your kind words.
I have chosen to adopt a coloured baby. Yes it is true that white babies are difficult to adopt, its not that they not out there, rather, the waiting lists are extremely long. I know of couples waiting 7 - 8 years for a white baby already. I am going through an organisation that also does not assist in adoption of white babies. I'm not sure where you can go from here with regards to adopting a white baby, maybe one of the other ladies can assist in giving advice? :Anyone??:

Wishing you all the best

Hi Gonna,

Welcome to the forum. The ladies here are AWESOME!!

We adopted a white baby. We have been TTC (with 6 unsuccesful IVF's and 4 miscarriages) for 7 years. During our TTC journey we went through the whole private adoption process. At the end of the day we waited just over two and a half years for our miracle baby. Our little boy was born on 10 November 2009 and he is the absolute light of our lives.

I guess my post is just to give you hope and to say that it is NOT impossible to adopt a white baby, it is just a total different journey.

I hope you have a smooth adption journey and that you will have your baby in your arms soon. Sometimes it unfortunately doesn't happen as soon as we would like it to (and sometimes it does!!), but keep the faith and stay positive!!

You are welcome to ask any questions, I'll do my best to answer them!

Warm regards,

Hannah

I was also recently told that a lot of the waiting lists for white babies are unfortunately closed. My adoptions were done privately. We knew the birth mommies and all went to the social worker and started the process from there.

Good luck. My adoptions have been so amazing that I truly do believe that it will happen at the right time for you.

Holding thumbs its soon.

Thats the best news Carmen! I'm so happy for you - what lovely news on a Monday morning! How long does it take now (the wait?) Do you have a time frame? Sorry I just know absolutely nothing about all this - and I can only imagine how excited you are.

Hi Ams and thanks.
Unfortunately we don't know when it will happen which on some days it gets sooooo frustrating but we have to just keep positive. If you look at my ticker you can see how long we been waiting since been on the waiting list.
Just wish we would get the call already! Rolling Eyes

Carmen, Would like to follow up with you how are you holding out. The waiting must be extremely difficult. It must feel as if life is standing still everyday for you. All I can tell you out of experience is that when that day comes and THAT call comes, your life will be turned upside down. You will be a mom in seconds, and it is very overwhelming, but in the same breath you will never in your life expereince a feeleing like the feeling of excitement and joy! And I hope the call comes soon for you. Hang in there!
Praying for you.
P.

Hi Carmen,

Hope and pray that you do not have to wait too much longer... I know that feeling, and can be frustrating at times, but hang-in there - it's all worth it!!!

When we received our call to inform us, we were soooo excited, we forgot about all the practical aspects, that we just bought our airplane tickets, and off we went with the first flight out... until we got to Cambodia... that morning we woke-up very early to be off to the orphanage and then to the Foreign Ministry for the handing-over ceremony, so all excited and nervous at the same time. But the car trip was a 2-hour drive, so half-way, we just turned around and looked at each other with really weird expressions - a bit more shock than anything else, as we both just realised that his room (back home) was not prepared - it was painted blue, but NOTHING ELSE!! Amazingly, we managed...

Gluck
