Not so sure about doctors anymore

So both boys were born 5 weeks prem but Noah went into ICU for 2 days as his lungs were not developed properly. He had tonsilitis around 2 weeks ago and doc prescribed anti biotics. He has had terrible green gunk blocking his chest (breathing) now for at least 3 weeks and battles to sleep at night. (Something the doc didn't seem to notice much?!?) Anyhow so second course anti biotics prescribed. No change. We have the humidifier on in the room each night - I have a nebuliser which I am using for short bursts at a time with him and still no joy. What I am going to do with this poor child? Spent half of last night up just watching his little sunken eyes - not cool Starting to loose my faith in doctors I must be honest. My GP is a qualified pead but doesn't practice as one. Do you ladies think I must bite the bullet and find another paed? Am I over reacting? So sick of transferring my salary into doctors bank accounts and getting no help at all grrrrrrrr

I would definitely get a second opinion, Ams. I have 'fired' about 3 paed so far..

Defintely you need a second opinon! he sounds very sick poor guy. It sounds like he should be on prelone and 3 times a day with the nebuliser.

Thanks for the advice - it set my mind at ease. I am taking him today at 4 - after 'my' doctor suggested a THIRD set of anti biotics mmmmm not cool :<

I would definitely get a second opinion, three courses is hectic, maybe he not prescribing the correct one for the problem?

I lost my faith in the medical profession a long time ago. Doctors do make mistakes so by all means get a second and even third opinion until you are comfortable.

So the paed was brilliant - really learnt a lot from him yesterday guys - thanks for the advice! Was the best thing I could have done.x
