twins playing

Post by Kerryw on Mon 3 May 2010 - 12:47

SO at one point connor would try and interact with Kian who was oblivious t him. Now Kian is trying to play with connor and he is not so interested. It is only in the car when they are strapped in that they talk to each other.

But they do like to copy each other sometimes.

Do your kids interact with each other and how do they interact??

Mine have started to interact but it's usually by way of a squabble over a particular toy! Whatever Grace has Michael wants, barrels over and grabs it from her! She then shrieks like a fishwife and he nonchalantly moves away. A bit of a bully I'm sorry to say.

But there are times when they laugh and giggle with one another. Michael will be in the bath and Grace standing up holding on to the edge looking over at him and smiling and they both think that this is hilarious! Too cute.

Jason and Grant interact behind closed doors, lol. When big brother is around he always disrupts their chats, so I hear them in the morning or just before bed time chatting about their day, real cute.

They have always been very aware of each other though, from babies they would copy each other. Here is a freaky story, they used to sleep in the bed with me (anything to keep the ex out) and I would put them on their tummies and they would 'talk' to each other and move at THE SAME TIME into THE SAME position... that freaked me out a little. They also used to bully each other a lot, out of frustration I guess, I mean I would get annoyed if I had an identical looking being folowing me ALL DAY, EVERY DAY, lol.

I think that Jason and Grant would have a lot more interaction with one another if big brother would let them, he likes to be centre of attention and with twin brothers to compete with I don't blame him either (to an extent). At school they pretty much stick together and are very protective over one another.

Mine play ON TOP of each other! They have ample space but insist on sitting/playing/trying to walk ON TOP of each other which is pretty annoying for all 4 of us actually (what with all the squeeling and pinching and hair pulling going on) They also pull each others dummies out - which I think is pretty cheeky. I must say though that when they think I am not watching I catch them smiling at each other and interacting - but yes at the moment its more 'bullying' than being nice :<

HAha, what a nice topic Kerry!
Yes indeed the girls now start to interact seriously and its very cute.
Kiana likes to "attack" Nica and then they would crack themselves laughing if they both fall down or if Kiana pushes her sister over!
But i must add sometimes it can also end up in tears Bawl Eyes Out or one of them screaming of frustration! But its all very funny.

Another interesting thing is - although Kiana is this really dolly-face, she hates it when i put stuff in her hair and hates any hat/beany obviously and hates socks.... (dont know how i will every make her a lady wink ) But anyway - if i do manage to put something in her hair she removes it immediately (or whenever she gets the feeling there might be something) , and then turns to her sister and removes it as well, same with the hat/beanie and socks. So neither of them have "girly hair clips or beany's or socks" on for more than 5 minutes.
So needless to say she doesnt want her sister to turn into a lady either.

When they bath they also have loads of fun splashing and laughing...and crawling all over each other to the other side of the bath.
Oh, and they do the occational pulling each others hair whenever they want to irritate each other.
Kiana is the dummy baby, Nica never liked a dummy - but when Nica sees her sis with a dummy she wants it!

Ha ha Page - that's exactly what Michael and Grace do - Grace is the dummy baby, Michael went off his ages ago but he always tries to grab hers!

My boys were both dummy babies until just over a year old, they used to love swopping dummies...

I'm no expert nor do I have twins but apparently babies parallel play untill about 2 - 3 years of age. In other words they play along side eachother rather than with eachother.
