Gift Idea's for twins?

Post by Dizzy on Wed 12 May 2010 - 8:17

hallo mom's

My sister's twin boys are turning one this month, do you have any suggestions at to what gift to buy them?

What would you want your twins to get for a first birthday gift, especially boy mom's?

Thanks

Dizzy

mm im not sure hey - I wanted to ask for those little plastic motor bikes maybe. Thought of asking each of my brothers for one? My mom has bought them baby gardening sets from Stodels which I love as we are always in the garden and they join in. (still a bit 'big' for them though) Otherwise clothes always come in handy? My mom (again) bought them gowns which come in really really handy on such cold mornings. Hope this helps? Guess it depends on how much money you want to spend x

The black 'bookie' bikes are always a winner Smile my boys got that for their first birthday and although they only used it closer to their second, it was great. It depends on what they like too? With my boys, you can't go wrong with a ball, car, tool set but I think that clothes are also always a winner.

Or how about those big plastic shells that you can fill with sand or plastic balls?

For their first birthday our twins got a Mega Blok play 'n go table. They love it and you can buy extra blocks to add to it. It folds up so you can take it anywhere. The both sit and play at it together.

I agree anything blocksy or that moves. but I find it is necessary to get two similar things or one thing they can both play with. My boys got some great new book which they are loving - the touch and feel ones. we also asked for money as I am saving to get them a slide.

Well, cute gifts that my girls got (which will work well for boys also) is "trolley's" Those that you push around with blocks on them. We got the plastic ones, but i know Boikido makes them in wood - which is really nice. So its basically a 2-in-1 toy because you get the blocks for playing and the trolley for pushing around.

Although we got 2, they always only play with 1. So hubby took one of the trolleys away for now.

*Books are always a winner - especially the ones with texture, sounds and very colourful pictures.
*Clothes were also very helpful since i did not have any clothes for winter.
*Building block like the BIG lego blocks can work well.
*My girls love to play with these toys where you insert the circle, triangular, rectangular etc blocks into a "bin"/cube. TOLO has a very nice one, and i am sure there are many variations on this toy
*Money box for each to put some loose money in

Also depends how much you want to spend..... if you want to spend a bit more....
We got this one super cool tricycle - its got a long lever at the back so that you (as the adult) can steer the baby/toddler in the beginning while he rests his feed on little steps, and the sitting area has bars around it, and can be strapped in.
Then later - on you can remove the sitting bars, and the lever at the back and the steps for the feet and then you "activate" the tricycle pedals for them to peddle themselves. It also has a little bucket at the back to transport toys.

My girls got one of these, and the one always rides inside while the other one pushes, or we load the other one in the carrier and they both get pushed...

i include a pic...

Hope the tips on the gifts help a bit...
