Leah's Birth
A bit lengthy, but here goes.
Well after a very long labour, my nunu was born. Started getting labour pains the Saturday night, a week before she was born. Pains started at about 8 and was about 10min apart and only lasted about 30sec so didn't take it too serious and then it all stopped at about 4 in the morning. Same thing happened the Sunday night. Went to the clinic on Monday and the nurse tells me that it's only BH contractions.
The pains came and went for up until Wednesday and Dh decided to take me to the clinic. I was only dialated 1cm and they sent me home. Was up till 4 in the morning and the pain just stopped.
Thursday, I decided to take a walk and contractions started again. Was a bit longer but not strong enough and at 2 Friday morning I was admitted and only dilated 3cm. Only at about 7 Friday morning I was taken to the labour ward where they had to break my waters and had a catheter inserted to empty my bladder. And at 7h50 Leah was born. Dh was in tears the whole time and could not stop telling me how proud he was of me. And when I held her in my arms I couldn't stop crying. Which was very strange to me cause I didn't cry this much when Jared was born.
She weighed a healthy 3.460kg and had an apgar of 9/10. Latched immediately and her bloods came back neg so no jaundice which made me so happy as I could not stand having to see my baby going through that.
Jared is just the big brother, just wants to kiss his little sister and hold her ,saying dudu baba, which is so cute, eventhough he's still a baby himself.

Re: Leah's Birth
No. It was all natural. I gave birth at a govt. hospital. And I must say, the midwife who delivered Leah was very profesional as she explained the whole procedure to dh and I.

Re: Leah's Birth
I'd say take it as it comes, but if they offer you something for the pain, take it. Al help dit nie, troos dit darem.Plus u know your body and what it can handle. I got a morphene shot with Jared, still couldn't feel the diff. but made me more at ease.
So, ja, I think that's as much advise that I can give.

Great Libby, thanks very much. Did you take any calming tablets like Rescue or anything like that? Did you have an enema? Did you have an episiotomy?
Sorry about all the questions........ Also did u eat/drink anything?

Re: Leah's Birth
None of the above. just water to keep me hydrated. But you do feel like eating a cow after the delivery.
