To our special adoption mommies

To adopt is probably one of the most amazing and difficult things to do
We commend you all because you all have hearts that are so pure and so true
The difficulties and challenges that comes along with a procedure like this
Is surely a feeling of uncertainty and at the same time so much bliss

Do we give our adopted mothers the joy and excitement they deserve?
Maybe we should re-think it cause for them too this is a birth.
I ask of you, is to be a mother really to birth a baby,
No, because to deserve that title, you sure have to be an extraordinary lady

You are all so remarkable and I’m sure you don’t even realize
The difference you make in each and every one of these children’s lives
Your children are and will forever be grateful to you
You give them the special gift of love,
Like only a mother can do

Yes, the waiting is terrible. All in all we waited 5 years to adopt, and had all but given up hope! I was 6 months from my 45th birthday, which had always been my unofficial cut off or give up time. But we got the call, and became parents in 2 days. Worth every minute of the wait. And I agree, don't have much time to myself anymore, but luckily she is a good sleeper and likes to go to bed early!
