Silly question

Post by Eileen on Fri 25 Jun 2010 - 9:39

Sorry i was just thinking about it the other day:

When you have twins and you go to a kids birthday party do you buy the birthday child a gift from each twin or a combined gift?

And personally what do you ladies do?

Oh and also when you have your twins' parties do you get one of the same gift for each child or do people only buy 1 gift for both kids or do they each get something different?

I get one gift from all the boys or three small gifts so that each child can give birthday child a present, depends really.

I end up getting them the same thing most of the time otherwise they end up fighting over who gets what toy/book/ball etc. For Christmas they ALL got the EXACT same gifts, hehe, and it worked out beautifully Smile they did get two gifts that were unique though, cannot over kill it I guess! I have found that generally people will buy individual gifts BUT they will be the same as well.

It depends on the circs, usually I buy one gift from the twins, but they are still small perhaps later I will change to getting a gift from each one.

I buy each one their own gift (not the same), I am big on keeping them separate. Some people buy them the same thing, some buy different things but generally a gift for each.

Hi

If going to a party I buy one gift from both boys (usually spend a little more).

Our parties, I prefer at this stage either one combined gift or two similar or the same toys as there are fights sometimes.

When they are older I think the gifts can be different.

but really anything is appreciated

I will buy one combined gift from all of us. Also spend a bit more.
I do not really mind if they get the same or different. But I think they will get more different since they are boy/girl. But happy with anything.
We bought them similiar gifts now for their birthday, just cause it was so cute and we wanted both to have their own Smiley

I do not have the luxury of more than one baby sitter so all the boys stay together...

Neither do I, but I wouldn't split them up even if I had. At the momemt it is easier just to have someone watch them at our house. Very occasionally I leave one with the nanny and take one out with me, just to one on one time.

Up until now we have not had a huge circle of baby friends so on the odd occasion I have bought a gift for another persons child it has been from both babies. On their birthday they got a variety of gifts - most of which could be shared (apart from clothes obviously) But I think as they get bigger they'll get separate things as they're starting to squabble over stuff now. (honestly - never a dull moment!!) AS far as baysitting goes - we are relieved when we can find just one babysitter - so splitting them up is never an option. And so far we have only left them with sitters in the evening and the sitter comes to our house usually. During the weekday they are with the nanny at home.

for babysitting at night I spilt them up as it is impossible to put them both to bed together so you need two people. It seems to work OK. I sent kian to play school the other day Connor was tired adn apparently Kian was a little lost some of the morning.

Hmmm, I just posted about the gifts last week on my blog.

But we've been invited to two twin parties - 1-year-olds and 2-year-olds. For both I bought one present from both my babies.

The 1-year-olds got a gift voucher from us (that's what the mom asked for so I got a nice big one)

and I bought lots of art stuff for the 2-year-olds - they can both use but there was enough stuff for one to be busy with one thing and the other with the other stuff.

I really don't mind. My whole thing is Less is More so I LOVE one present for both but most people have always bought two things. Although their bday is still coming up. Getting smaller and smaller though as people are declining!!!
