Att Eve

Post by emerald on Fri 9 Jul 2010 - 10:24

Firstly i want to say congrats on the birth of your twin. Did you post your story under the birth story as i looked for it but did not see anything.. As you can see i am back on again(don't know for how long before this site is blocked again. So, how are you coping. Are you getting any help from the family. You must be so exhausted, but trust me, it gets easier. Enjoy them and you will be so amazed to watch them f=grow. The little things that they will start doing, like give something to one and they will always want another for their twin or feed ing each other, or even just crawling on towards each other when they are asleep. Hope you are enjoying it and not walking around like a zombie.

Hi Emerald

Thanks for thinking of me. Yes I did post my birth story under the "birth stories' section of the forum.
Having a rough time with them at the mo. Both have colic and Joshua just doesnt want to sleep. I tried every colic rememdy under the sun and took them to a chiro but nothing helped. The best thing so far is Naomi's colic mixture.

Joshua is driving me insane as he JUST WONT SLEEP!! I dont know wht to do anymore. I think I cry more than them lol!

Anyway, theyu are 7 weeks now so hoping things get easier soon!
xxx

I know exactly how you feel. For me it was Jaydon who never slept. For me the bennits helped. Try giving them some buscopan at night. This takes the cramps away and they sleep a bit better. I used to give them just 1ml. I think that you are still in for quite a few sleepless nitght. For me it got a bit better after they were 4months but eventually you just get used to it.. Are you getting any help?

Someone told me something once which i hated but was, in fact, true.

It doesn't REALLY get easier, you just handle it better.

That said, if you're anything like me, Eve, just don't ask people how their babies are sleeping. It seems like EVERYONE IN THE WHOLE WORLD has babies who sleep through beautifully.

Drove/ drives me crazy.

Is it possible for you to get even a once-a-week night nanny? You will SO look forward to that one night of sleep and will feel like a new woman in the morning.

I did not mean to offend you Eve by asking about their sleeping habbits. I have been there so that is the reason i asked. I just thought that any tips might help.
So sorry that you took offence to the question Coachmarcia

No, Emerald, I didn't take offence AT ALL Smile

My point was that if you don't have babies (or a baby) who sleeps well, it's very discouraging to hear from everyone how well their babies are sleeping.

Or that's how it was for me.

Made me feel like a bad mother and a failure!

I know what you mean coach but I learnt afterwards people have A. selective memories B. different defintions of sleeping through C. sleepy kids.

My mom warned me my kids would not sleep ans she was right!

I think that my message was mininterpretted. I said that Jaydon also didnot sleep at night and during the day. Both my boys were collic, so nights were very difficul for me. That is why i mentioned the buscopan. It helped them to sleep for a little while.

The buscopan helps a bit. For how long did they suffer with colic?
