New & diving headfirst into ivf - help!

Hi all

What a great forum!

DH and I have been ttc for a couple of years now and we have done so many cycles of clomid, timed cycles etc that I have lost count (and almost given up many times, but its not so easy to give up on the dream, is it?)! Getting pregnant is so easy for so many people. *sigh*

I am going to be starting ivf at Vitalab really soon. Dr J said something about skipping Lucrin (I have read on other sites that many people do Lucrin first). Does anyone know the process for stims? Or how vitalab does ivf? Is this what they call the short protocol? Also I am on CD 18 of my current cycle (on the pill) and Dr mentioned skipping the placebos to push my period out and starting ivf in 2 weeks. I'm so confused but feel like such an idiot asking questions. I dont want him to think Im nuts So for example. If I get to the end of this pill Im on and skip the placebos, on what day would stims start? You all seem to know so much!

Hey there and welcome!! Dr J was my FS and I now hve twin boys thanks to him Yes, I think you are on the short protocol. He also did a 'not the norm' IVF with me and I was also worried, but it worked out fine in the end!

Those Dr's may have performed IVF a gazillion times but this is your first and you are entitled to ask as many questions as you need to even if you think they sound silly. I am sure they understand that!

Don't be afraid to ask...this is your shot at your dream and you need to understand what you are doing to ensure that it all goes according to plan.

When any normal person offers you a service that you pay for we all ask a million questions, so think of it that way.... a DR is no different. You are paying him to provide a professional service so you are more than entitled to ask what you need to.

Hey girl. Dependant on your dr, you might start stims on CD3. But it is all up to him. I would usggest you ask him. At the ned of the day, you are paying him to help you
