The birth of my miracle baby, Dylan Elijah
As many of you know, I was admitted to hospital on the 05 September 2010 as we again had a stubborn little baby on our hands. I was induced the Monday, 06 September 2010 at 06H00. So I am lying there with the monitors beeping away after I had my first dosage and the midwife and doctors indicate to me an hour later that I had 3 very mild contractions as per the monitor, didnt feel a thing.
Anyway, I lie there and figure I might as well sleep as I have read all the magazines the previous day already. They woke me at about 11H00 am as I am to get my second dosage. I get that and monitors still ticking away and I go back to sleep. At 12H00 I was disconnected and I went to watch some tv. As I returned to my room, I felt a funny pain very low down ( almost in my legs ), but very mild, but made me think
, this was at about 12H30. I made my way to my room and I lay there and at about 13H00 I got this real stabbing pain, but still low down and into my legs. And soon this would happen more often then I would have liked, but still I lie there quiet as can be ( so I heard ). When the doctors and midwifes did their rounds at about 14H00, they monitored me again and sat with me and tried to feel the contractions across my tummy, but there was nothing
Now in my mind I am thinking that if there is nothing then I want a f...cking ceaser, because if this is only the beginning then I dont want to be here for the end. They checking out the monitor and calling doctors and other midwifes because I keep saying that the pain is in my legs and very low down and they cannot feel contractions across my abdomen. They all chat and monitor etc and by this time its already after 15H00 and I am clinging to the rail of the bed and doing my breathing and still listening to the doctors and midwifes saying that they dont understand it, they cannot feel contractions, but I appear to be in alot of pain and the monitors do not indicate the mount of freaking contractions in 10 min, so I basically still have far to go.
, appear to be in pain?, I am you mother freakin f.cker!!!!!
At about 15H40, I start gagging and I vommited my guts out and they then said, lets do internal, this is normally a sign of labor.
At about 15H45, they decide to do an internal, OMW, they do the internal and they all look completely stunned / shocked out of their boots, running around like headless chickens, asking me if I needed a wheelchair etc, because I need to get the the labour ward, I am 8 cm dialated. At this stage in my mind, I am like
, thank goodness, no ceaser, I will walk, sure I will and I make my way to the labour room pausing in the passage while having contractions. Once there, I phone my hubby, which was exactly 15H57 ( checked the call records afterwards ). I tell him, I am in labor and he reckons, "dont talk shit, you still talking, you sound ok" and my reply, "whatever?" and I hang up
He phones back, you are not kidding???, No, you dumb f..ck, I am not!!!
Hubby arrives at 16H30 and still cannot believe that it is nearly time. Im lying there doing my breathing and my hubby and the midwifes are talking shit ( labor stories ) etc and about how cool and calm I am and about a lady who is a size 32 that lifted the midwife with one hand ( her feet leaving the floor ) while she had a contraction
For the next 30 minutes I would tell them, I feel I need to poo and they wouldnt let me go, I needed to poo right there if need be. Anyway, they ask me to talk them through whatever I am feeling and that I could push with a contraction at anytime I wished to. Bear in mind, my waters had not broken yet. At about 17H00 I started the actual pushing and plop Dylans head comes out....now, what pissed me off is that I could feel that I can push this baby out with one go, but NO, I have to stop pushing ( obviously they need to check for the cord etc ), but still, at that moment, I just want it over, done, finish!!!. Anyway, I give one last push and plop, out is Dylan, born at 17H07 weighing 2kg, 50 cm and HC 30cm and AGPAR 8 and 7 and he was born in the sack. What an amazing feeling, I looked at him and thought, my / our miracle....we did it!!!
Unlike with Kaylin's birth, I was honestly mobile and doing very well within about an hour. I had supper and walked back and forth to Dylan, who was in another ward - NICU. PS: No 2 births are alike as the midwifes, doctors and myself once again discovered. They were very stunned and so was I, because I honestly felt nothing in my abdomen, it was all in my legs, how strange, but hey it got Dylan out and that is what is important.
PS: I guess I will never know what a spontaneous birth feels like - NEVER EVER, because I am sure not going down this road again.
Thanks for reading and thanks for all the support and well wishes throughout this pregnancy and with little D and his op, it is much appreciated.

I'm glad it went well, for interest sake, it is considered to lucky to be born with the sac still intact. Births with the sac completely intact are almost unheard of so it's surely a good sign for your boy
