PLAYING TOGETHER

Post by Joleen on Mon 1 Nov 2010 - 11:17

Hi everyone

How do your twins get on? Mine can love each other one minute but want to kill each other the next moment. Wade loves taking what ever Erin is playing with and then she screams. They even have tug and war at times. It is exhausting.

Hmm, I hope they grow out of this at some stage LOL

Mine are just the same. Kian never seems to want what Connor has but anything Kian has Connor trows a tantrum till Kian gives it to him. Kian then gets cross and bites connor.

It is tough but slowly they are learning. I am told when they are 3 it gets better.

Nope... Cameron snatches toys from Nicholas if Nicholas has been brazen enough to touch anything that belongs to him. He's nearly five. I am sure my job as mediator is going to get harder as Nicholas starts venturing / exploring and playing more.

This morning Nicholas was walking around the coffee table in the lounge and had the gall to touch one of Cameron's toys in the middle of the table. cameron (sitting on the cough) screamed so loudly at him that he started crying.

I think I only started liking my sister in high school if not after

LOL - mine started noticing the other at 7 months! 7 months!

Mine both fight and play nicely - just depends on their mood and if their sister/ brother has something they want.

Oh dear I suppose the one advantage about twins for now is there is no thier toys. they all belong to both of them.

I have read though it is good to let them own stuff.

Kerry - Erin has dolls and Wade has cars but he still wants hers. he "owns" the cars. Yesterday they were drinking from their sippy cups. Erin has a pink one and Wade a blue one but unfortunately they each have a yellow one. Did they fight over the bottles!!! I showed them that they were the same and they still faught. I eventually swopped them a couple of times and held out my hands and said "there!".

Joleen - thsi is a very exhausting stage I'm finding! (mine are 19 months) Lots of fighting and bickering. Whatever Grace has Michael wants. I bought them a cheap little set of 4 coloured cups, saucers & spoons. You would think they would share but no - Michael wanted to hold ALL of them! When I have the energy I intervene but otherwise leave them to fight it out!

But there are times when they play so beautifully together, rushing around squealing in delight & mischief. In fact the other night my DH caught them hugging one another! (this I have yet to see though!)

Wendy, mine kiss each other - big slobbery wet kisses (disgusting but very, very cute).'

C won't kiss me or DH but he kisses his sister. Once or twice I've said, "kiss kendra" and then I sneak in a "kiss mummy" and he actually obeys.

MIne actuall noticed eachother from a very early age. The used to make their way towards each other in bed and hold hands and sleep. Now they fight like animals one moment and the next moment they are playing hide and seek with each other and giggling like you can't believe. But we need to get C out of the habbit of hitting J as he always hits him and poor J does not fight back. But when it comes to toys, J wants everything that C has in his hand, even though there are 2 of everything. Eve, you time is coming to seperate fighs and be refree of who gets what.

I don't have twins but Keagan and Kayla are exactly the same. They play together so nicely but always want what the other has. We just leave them to sort it out or else we would go nuts. Obviously we don't allow them to hurt one another but if we had to intervene all the time we would never do anything else and they will never learn to share.

On the other hand though they adore one another and are always hugging and smooching. I think when they get older they will be the best of friends and would kill for one another!

Mine also have their fights , and then the most playfull fun moments as well .
i now started the "Ta" so that they can ask when they want something , and they are continuously asking each other Ta..... but the responses is not always the desired ones :innocent

Nica love to get up and run away if they know they have something that you or their sister wants.
Both of them have the tantrum moments but i just ignore them and they seem to pass quickly!

but Wendy - i must agree with you - this age is very challenging and you feel like you are tested every second!
