Playgroup
The girls are starting playgroup in January, and I am terrified!! I literally get palpitations to think I ave to leave them there and I know Olivia is not going to take to it kindly!
They are growing up so quickly now, I just want to keep them little!
BTW Rachel is also coming along well with the potty training, looks like it will be done and dusted by the end of the year!

Re: Playgroup
I know exactly how you feel, Dami is starting in school in Jan
But after the parents evening and him just loving it - I feel a little better - i'm still so worried about them watching him properly on the jungle gyms and stuff but it has to be done

Re: Playgroup
it goes by so so so quickly, I so miss the early saturday morning feeds, the 5am ones when he was so tiny he'd fit in the bend of my arm, and I'd give him a nice warm bottle and then he'd just cuddle into my neck and we'd fall asleep on the couch watching early mornign cartoons.... Now when I kiss him- he wipes it off and says "ah man, Gross mom"

Re: Playgroup
Ja I agree! I can barely even remember those tiny little persons, they are so big and mobile now! I watched a movie of my husband feeding one yesterday, so sweet!

Re: Playgroup
I know we have to send them to playgroup next year sometime, but my heart just want to break if I look at Carmen. She only weighs 7kg, there is no way I can do it soon. Maybe when they turn two next year and after the winter

Re: Playgroup
I must say I look at this past year and can't believe it's almost at an end. My two are still at home next year with their nanny. the little school I want to send them to only takes them the year they turn 3 which is March 2012. Both my husband and I work a full day so not feasible to send them somewhere half day.
They are real little people now - I am really enjoying this age even though it's exhausting I think it might be getting a little bit easier. I held a colleagues little 3 month old baby the other day and felt quite awkward! Can't believe my two were ever so tiny!

Re: Playgroup
Shame P they will be fine - like you say it is normally the mommies that don't come.
On this subject - do you think keeping them longer at home with a nanny or playgoup or daymom that they have a disadvantage toward kids that are at a creche from baby days?
Will they catch up to the other kids when they do move over to a creche?

Re: Playgroup
I think different people have different views and one just needs to work with whatever situation one finds oneself in. My ideal would be for mine to go to a little playschool 3 days a week until 12 from next year but then what do we do with the nanny? Cant afford to pay both and anyway - we don't have means of transport to get them home at lunchtime.
Our nanny is excellent and really stimulates and plays with them. While I would prefer them to have a bit more interaction with children their own age I am hoping that it will not be too much of a disadvantage to them when they do start at 2 yrs 9 months. Actually my paed recommended keeping them at home until 3 yrs purely from a health perspective so I am not uncomfortable with our decision.

Mel, I really think it depends on the individual child

Re: Playgroup
No health wise it is the best for them and luckily they have a few other kids at daymom and they play the whole day put they don't do education things but I love the daymom and they are happy.
I don't feel comfortable sending them to creche next year just because they can't speak properly if somthing is going on at the creche or they get hurt there. Maybe I am just paraniod

Re: Playgroup
Well i can see mine are getting a bit restless at home. The playgroup they are going to is open 7 till 2 but you are free to come and go as you like, so mine will go till 12 initially. Our nanny will turn into maid/nanny and as she has a driver's license and the group is in our estate we are OK with her fetching them. I think it will be great for them to have some structured activities and other friends to play with - it is important to me that they don't become to interdependant so I think all in all it will be best for them. i really don't see them being too happy at home much longer, but especially Rachel is very active so she will need some outside stimulation.
