anxious - 14 weeks pregnant
Hi everyone! Im new to this wonderful website and was hoping to get some encouragement and advise...
About 5 years ago I had extensive colon surgery which left me with allot of discomfort, pain and large doctors bills not to mention employers frowning on my circumstances. I never thought I would be able to fall pregnant but here I am, 14 weeks pregnant The problem is Im so stressed out because Im get all these terrible aches and pains that make we worry that I might loose my baby. I never had these pains with my first baby so everything worries me. To top it all off my hubby once mentioned that if something should happen to the baby he would be upset with me because I stress to much but he adds to my stress because his lazy and doesn't help out much with chores. He just sit infront of the telly all the time and doesn't seem to understand my irratic moods and fatigue. I've also developed high blood pressure, swollen feet and problems with walking. I just dont know how Im going to cope with all these worries for another 5 months! Can someone please help me.....

yes I have called him, he prescribed Nurofen and said if it doesn't help by today I should come see him. Problem is obviously I dont have pain when I take the meds but when it wears off I cant move myself. I Dont want to seem paranoid to my doctor and my husband says I just want to go early to see what the baby looks like.....

Maybe you should ask a second opinion before you continue with the NUROFEN...

I know usually u can only take stuff with paracetamol.... y dont u jz move your apointment up? It will save u alot of stress & worry... Goodluck girl... Im on my way home now have a good evening & I hope those pains stop... but I think the safest option is to go to your gynae.

Re: anxious - 14 weeks pregnant
Bails, I have never been pregnant but from what I know it is only paracetamol and some anti-biotics in extreme cases that one can take.
This is from the package insert on the internet.... so the answer is NO.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
NUROFEN is not recommended for use by pregnant women.
I would most definitely get a second opinion about this and doctors are there for a reason. If you are nervous about anything ask! If your doc does not want to help you then you need a new doc.
Pregnancy is scary enough as it is without adding a gynae that does not explain things and treats you like a number.
