DH is going for the snip

Post by Ams on Thu 13 Jan 2011 - 16:52

on 18 Feb - and although we both know he must - I feel like Crying or Very sad all of a sudden! How absolutely bizarre! I must have hidden 'I want more children' feelings.

I am sure its completely natural to be in two minds about it. What made him decide to do it now?

My hubby is also going next month Ams. Although we are "infertile", we are a bit scared of a glips. But it still feels so final....

Well, if you ever decide to have more, he could always do a reversal, so its not final final Smile

Sjoe that is a big decision Ams! We would not go that route, too final and a reversal is not always that effective. What if something happens and you want more? For instance, my aunt's youngest child was killed in a hit-and-run and she had to have her tubeligation reversed, because she wanted another one then. But, each to his own, so good luck to him, hope everything goes smoothly!

mm I totally hear you b - I wanted to have my tubes tied when I had the cesar (sp) and they said no for the same reasons. We are just so scared another two 'arrive' - as it is we just don't have enough money for the first two. but yes, def food for thought - thanks

Yes, that is true P, if its done its done, no turning back. But for us there can't be anymore. I'm on methotrexate and all sorts of dangerous medication for my RA. So we'd rather be safe than sorry. I should have rather had my tubes tied, but too late for that now.....

AMs I think it is just the idea of no more that is so scary. I think it will make you rest easier and you dont need to be on the pill which is great.

I know what you mean about expensive I keep hoping that as soon as we are off nappies it should help.

Good luck Ams, the problem is that a glips do happen.

Friends of ours twins are 6 this year and they had a 0.06% to have children naturally and November she found out she is preggies naturally so yes rather safe that sorry.

We will also not go that route but I am every month terrified that something can just happen.
