Twins at school
They are handling it so differently! Rachel cried only 2 mornings out of the last 9 (and not the first ones either), now she goes off and plays the minute she gets there.
Olivia has cried most mornings, but it is getting better, and she loves loves loves playing with 2 other little girls, and she loves the music class! She also goes off to sleep at nap time, no problem, while Rachel (no surprise) struggles to go down, just too much for her to do. Also, we seem (holding every thumb available) to be getting on top of the biting thing, she is responding well to the discipline (time out). She does climb on everything giving half a chance... The twins also do their own thing at school, they don't act as a unit at all, which is good as I try to raise them as individually as possible, and at the same time, they are never alone.
So after almost 2 weeks, I can safely say, school is a roaring success!

Re: Twins at school
Thats great P! So nice to hear - I had to take Noah for his asthma check up yesterday so Finn was alone pretty much the whole morning and the teacher said he was so much more settled and calm than he usually is. Can you believe it - I am really thinking of seperating them when they get to big school - glad for you - they sound HAPPY!

Re: Twins at school
Hi
Glad it's working out for you. It makes you feel much better knowing they are settling in and enjoying their new friends.
Abigail now cries (past 2 morning) before we even reach their class. Clarice is fine (she was the one crying in the beginning). The teacher keeps on telling me Abigail is fine as soon as I leave but I feel so bad for her.
She also wakes up a lot during the night, not for milk, but for me to put her in bed with me.
My MIL said I should give her another 2 weeks before I try sleep training cause she is just insecure at this stage, but man oh man I need some sleep.
So please hold thumbs that Abigail will also start enjoying school .... VERY soon.
Zellie

Re: Twins at school
I am so glad your little ones are adapting so well... i have started to look around for a playgroup for the girls where i can take them 2 or 3 mornings of the week.... but no success yet. they are so eager now to learn and play and talk... and i just feel nursery school is so expensive if i dont really need to send them off to school fulltime yet...
and its ridiculous how they RIP you off with the prices between half day and full day! its like 1950 for half day and 2050 for full day... 100 rand difference...unbelievable...

Re: Twins at school
Page, I'm with you. I looked at two schools near us in bedfordview - one was R1650 and R1400 for halfday, and the other R1900 and R1750 for halfday.
No way will i be able to do that AND a nanny at her current salary. When they go to school I'll have to have a normal (maybe live-in) domestic...

Re: Twins at school
The twins' cost R1550, till 2 pm, and the school is then closed anyway. Nevertheless, I am also going to have to retrench my nanny now, the twins is anyway at an age now where I don't need much help with them anymore. Paying for 2 is really a lot!
Plus they now have music and playball at the twins' school - twice again! BUT R is not much interested in music while O loves it, so I have decided to let O do music, and IF R seems more interested I will pay for her too then. Otherwise it is just too much!
