My TTC story
Hi everyone.
My name is Alison and I am new to the forum.
I have been married for 9 years. For most of my life I never wanted children - my hubby always wanted kids, he knew about my feelings when we got married. My mom always told me that I must have kids as my hubby would make an excellent dad, he would probably leave me if I didn't and she said I would be lonely in later life. I told her that I just did not have any desire to have kids - she told me that this would change and I never believed her.
Well at the end of 2007 at the age of 30 I suddenly changed my mind - I realised that I had a lot of love to give and that I wanted to be a mother. I went off the pill in Jan 2008. It is now 3 & a half years later and I have not fallen pregnant. Isn't ironic that for 30 years I did everything possible to NOT fall pregnant and now I would do ANYTHING to be pregnant.
Life has been really hectic in the last month and I haven't really had time to think about baby making. Anyway, I was 2 days late and decided to do a HPT. It was one of those 99% accurate Clearblue Digital tests with the conception indicator. I nearly fainted when I saw the words "Pregnant 1-2" I didn't know what to do. I decided that I should proceed with caution as these tests are not gospel. Against better judgement, I showed it to hubby - he was over the moon! He asked me why I was not jumping for joy. I said I didn't want to get my hopes up and said I would go for a blood test on Saturday. I did 2 more HPT on Saturday - all were negative. And then after being 4 days late, I had the heaviest most painful period of my life.
Was this all a cruel joke? Was this an error? I have been in tears for something I had for one day, just for it to be ripped away the very next day. It has been a really tough 3 and a half years and I just can't understand why life is so unfair.

Re: My TTC story
Its comforting to hear that I am not alone and that it is still possible!
I haven't seen a specialist yet - my gynae says there is nothing wrong with me - but I suppose it would make sense to get an expert opinion. I work in Sandton - any suggestions for a specialist there or in the surrounding areas?

Re: My TTC story
HI
good luck with TTC what you expirienced sounds like an early miscarriage particularly with the heavy bleeding.
has you gynea done blood tests on you? only then can he say you are normal also there are two people involved in TTC adnyou may be fine but DH may have the problem.
So defintly FS is the way to go it takes between 1 and 2 months to get an appt
