Trying to conceive

Post by Kirsten on Mon 18 Jul 2011 - 11:20

Hi all,

I am definitely new to this and not too sure what to expect or even say.
My hubby and I have been trying for a couple months now to get preggies but no luck just yet.
2 years ago I went for a normal check up to the Gynae and was told that I had STAGE 3 Endometriosis. I went for an op and a course of meds and was given the go ahead to start trying to fall preggies in March this year (2011). We have been trying since then and nothing. I know it has only been a few months, but we don’t have much time due to the Endo.
A friend of mine told me to buy Ovulation test sticks and see if I am actually ovulating. Well it doesn’t seem that I am. I am booked in to see my Gynae in August to find out what is going on.
Does anyone have any advice, tips and tricks for us until we see the Gynea?

Hi Kirsten - Nice to meet you.
I am not too familiar with Endometriosis but here are a few ladies that will be able to give some tips etc.

I hope you get your positive soon!

The ovulations sticks are always a good idea to buy to determine whether you ovulate or not.

Good luck !!!

Welcome to the OPM, my advice would be to let them do all the necessary blood tests to determine what the problem is, it could be pcos etc etc. This is a tough road and especially if a problem has already been identified. It is always good to know everything and then start with a plan of action, I would also advice that you see a fertility specialist they deal with the problems head on and will work on a plan of action best suited for you. Sorry don't want to overwhelm you but I understand what you are feeling because most of us are still on that road!

Hi and Welcome.

Sorry to hear abou the Endo.

I think it was wise to make a Gynae appointment and rather do the bloods to establish whether you are ovulating. Sometimes those kits are not always accurate or you are testing on the wrong day etc.

With PCOS it is very hard to use the Ovulation Kits as they rarely pick up the ovulation so therefore they are very ineffective in my case.

There are quite a few girls on here who have suffered terribly with Endo and have sucess stories so hang in there and wait to see what the Dr advises.

I hope that you find the answers you are looking for here.

Hi and welcome Smile

I battle severely with endo. Had stage 3 removed once and stage 4 removed twice - in less than 3 years, and I suspect its back again :Badmoood:

Hope you get loads of advice and support from the gals here!

Hi Kriten and welcome to the group.

I've battled for a long time with endo but was only diagnosed in 2007. I would personally move straight on to a fs as I my gyane didn't do the lap properly and gave me the wrong meds which delayed my attempts to fall pregnant by 6 months. Good luck and all the best

TTC after D&C

Post by Mommy*tf3* on Sun 31 Jul 2011 - 20:09

Hi all. I had a d&c on the 25th of June after my baby died at 14 weeks due to me contracting Bacterial manengitis. I have been spotting now and then, but I did a HPT on the 2nd of June to check if my levels are down, and it was negative. I was hoping to fall pregnant right away, but did a test on the 5th, 6th and 9th of July (yes a bit over the top I know) all were negative. I still have not had my period and it is nearly 5 weeks after my d&c. I so badly want to know what is happening - but no idea when ovulation was or when I am going to have my period and when I can test. To scared to test again and have another negative. :confused
