Re: Marilé's birth
Wow sounds so easy!
How long after were you able to walk around and feel kind of 'normal'.
Have been considering asking my Gynae (as Ive heard it can be done), to try natural this time, even though Ive had a C-section with Jared.
Its just with Jared, the night before my C-section I went into labour, had full on contractions right through the night until baby was out. I remember being wheeled in theatre the next morning, not being able to wait for the spinal so that the labour pains would go away.
After monitoring the contractions when I arrived at 12AM that evening, they gave me pills to stop the contractions which didnt work AT ALL. I was in and out of the bath tub about 3 times that night.
I dont know, I keep thinking if I could endure that, then why not try for natural this time. (IF BABY IS LESS THAN 4kg LOL!!!)
The only problem is I wasnt dilating AT ALL!
But shoo Monz, your birth story is inspiring!! Want to chat to my Gynae this week.

Re: Marilé's birth
Zee, I got up from delivery, walked to my room and showered. Wanted to walk through to maternity as I felt good enough but according to protocol they wouldn't let me and especially wouldn't let me carry M in my arms.
They wheeled me through on the bed. I took my meds as they gave it to me and walked around frequently. (DH said it took a while to get used to me jumping around and getting off the bed in a second now) I took my salt baths 3 times a day, for about 10 days. Swelling got less from day 3. There really wasn't much discomfort since. You learn quickly how to sit to ease the discomfort down there, and although not without some moments, overall, it's not as bad. Walking was never an issue, from the word go.
I took my meds at home on time and that helped, even if you don't feel pain or discomfort, take it. I honestly have to admit, pushing the baby out is the least painful part (that is more a "burn"). It's the labour that is the toughest.
Feeling as normal as I can, I'd say from day 10.

Re: Marilé's birth
You SEE!!! Its the recovery that has me thinking twice about the C-Section.
I remember with Jared wishing I could feel 'normal' again.
Seriously considering natural hey!!

Re: Marilé's birth
If you can, why not, take an epidural if you have to, nothing wrong with that...

Re: Marilé's birth
If I could manage 7 hours of labour pains with Jared then Im sure I can manage normal birth. HEHE
When the nurse put that monitor around my tummy she said it must read (I could be wrong because its a bit of a blurr to me) 47 and up in order for it to be considered labour pains and mine shot up to 150...something.
I dont know what the count is if you are truly in labour, giving birth, but I thought that was high. Dunno
But ja, my thing is this: I will book a C-Section but if I go into labour BEFORE the date NATURALLY, then I want to try and push but if I DONT go into labour before my scheduled C-Section then I will opt for the C-Section.
I just dont really like the idea of inducing because I feel its almost forcing your body to do something it isnt quite ready for. Lots of my friends did the induction and after hours of labour pains didnt dialate (sp) so had to have a C-section after ALL THAT.
Anyway will chat to my gynae.

Re: Marilé's birth
I wasn't on the monitor for long, and I still laughed and chatted through those starting pains. Think I got to mid 50's, (possibly a 70, from what I can remember) then I was taken off. From there it got much more intense, very quickly, but no way of knowing the count.
