Daily thought and prayer - 13 to 18 February 2009

Verse: Zephaniah 2:3

Seek the Lord, inquire of Him and require Him as the foremost necessity of your life!

- To seek God means to ask, request, desire, pray and make petition to Him.
- God wants us to give Him the place of priority in our lives.
- He must become the 'foremost necessity' of our lives.
- Make this your priority and God will take care of the rest!

PRAYER: Lord, I give You first place in my life. I make You the 'foremost necessity' of my life. Amen.

Verse: Jeremiah 32:15

Thus says the Lord God: Houses and fields and vineyards shall be purchased yet again in this land.

- Sometimes we go through difficult seasons.
- The world is facing an economic crisis.
- It may feel as if things are deteriorating in your situation.
- But I believe this is a promise for you and for me.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You that with You we always have hope. Things may seem dark, but You are still in control and we believe Your promise of hope. Amen.

Verse: Jeremiah 31:14

My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the Lord.

- God's plan for each of us is clear.
- He wants us to experience His goodness in our lives.
- God's love, kindness and goodness is the only thing that really satisfies.
- May you experience His goodness in your life.

PRAYER: Lord, You satisfy the longings of my heart. Come and fill me up and may I experience Your goodness today. Amen.


Verse: Psalm 27:13

I would have despaired, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

- When we give up on God we give up on life.
- We must believe that God has a plan.
- It does not matter what situations may look like.
- God wants to be good to you!

DECLARATION: I know that God has good things in store for me. I will not despair or get discouraged!
