I am also new here.

I have got PCOS, and started my first course of Clomid this morning. Have to see the gynea on 20 Aug 08, will then see if I ovulated.

I was just wondering if you know what the chances are to conceive twins as we have plenty in our family. My father was one of a non-identical twins, my mother's father one of a identical twins. My father's father had a triplet sisters, and my mother in law lost twin girls trhough miscarrage.

I am very unsure of what to expect with this treatment, it's our first time to try to start with a family. I'm 31 and my husband's 36.

Clomid does apparently increase the chance of twins, but I have heard of a lot of women that havesuccessfully conceived one child with Clomid. However, your chances of having twins will probably be higher with clomid and twins in your family. Do you want twins?

I hope you dont have too many side effects from the Clomid!!

Your chances are very high to conceive twins. But identical twins are not genetic it is spontaneous, non-identical twins can be passed down in the genes. I was pregnant with twins and did a lot of reading about it.

To be honest, I don't know what I'm hoping for. On the one hand I do hope for twins, but on the other hand I'm scared that I might struggle to handle 2 at a time.

I Started with the Clomid yesterday, and felt very well, but today I'm not feeling very well at all.

Just remember that God will only give you what you can handle! So if you have twins, you are meant to have them!

I suffered major side effects from Clomid, especially the first cycle I took them: headaches, nausea, bad cramping.

I hope the effects will soon pass!
