Advice Blocked Tear Duct
Hi Ladies,
I'm hoping that you can help me.
Jordan has a blocked tear duct, which keeps re inflaming. He has been to the GP and has had eye drops, but nothing seems to work. A nurse suggested that I massage it everytime I feed him, but all this horrid gunk comes out.
It doesn't seem to worry him, but it's freaking me out.
Any advice?

Hi Nix, are you breastfeeding? I used breastmilk on cotton wool - it cleared up very quickly! Also you can use low kettle water or rooibos tea. I've heard from other ladies that it works aswell. Drs told me to massage his eye, but I didn't like it Nix!

Re: Advice Blocked Tear Duct
Unfortunately I'm not breastfeeding, my lil guy was allergic to me... (can you believe it), but I'm going to give the rooibos tea a try. I hate massaging his little eye, I'm always worried about the damage I'm doing to his face.
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

No problem Nix, let me know if the rooibos tea works!
Actually I can believe it - a friend of mine's baby was also allergic to her milk. Just as long as you don't beat yourself up about not being able to breastfeed - my friend felt extremely guilty. Not breastfeeding does NOT make you a bad mommy!
Anyhoo, have a great day and enjoy your little boy. Btw cute pic!!
