Prayer chains – effective for whom???

When asked what they do with chain letters, most Christians will answer, “I throw it away, or I ignore it” When asked why? They answer, because it is a tool of the enemy, and borders on white witchcraft.

Now I want to ask the question; “Why do we as Christians, then do things the way the enemy does it?” What do you mean? You might ask. It is as simple as this:

“Dear Friend

20 year old Suzie Cue has been diagnosed with brain cancer, she is absolutely devasted as she is not ready to die. Her family begs of you to please pray for her. PLEASE SEND THIS ON TO AT LEAST 5 PEOPLE, PLEASE DO NOT BREAK THE CHAIN.”

Surely this looks quite familiar, we all get them in our email, or via sms on a daily basis. I used to just delete these messages, but recently Holy Spirit has been pressing on my heart, to answer these messages, GO RIGHT TO THE ORIGINAL SOURCE, and equip them with the truth.

You see we all know the saying “What you say is what you get.” and we all know that it is very true. We know about the power of agreement and the power of confession.

Now my dear friend if we know these things, why do we affirm our loved ones sicknesses or bad situations, by repeating it and further more, help the enemy by spreading such lies.

Let me just give you an example of “What you say is wat you get”; Two years ago, a client of our business was diagnosed with cancer. This a beautiful young mother of 2 little boys. Now this woman and her family was quite devastated by the news, and was asking all their friends and family to please pray for them, and they were unbelievers might I add. When she told my husband her story, he immediately told her to stop saying that she has cancer and to start confessing that she was healed. He asked me to explain the power of confession, which I promptly did. A few weeks later he was at a race, in which this woman’s husband was competing. While sitting in the stands, he overheard people talking about this poor man, whose wife is dying, he immediately went to the husband, and explained the power of confession to him. Now remember these are unbeliever’s we are talking about. The husband took to heart what he had heard, because he was desperate, and started telling every one that would listen, that his wife was healed. Quickly the rumor spread. After a couple of weeks she went to the doctors for tests, and low and behold NO CANCER!!! To this day this woman is cancer free, and naturally a believer.

Now you might ask how is it that an unbeliever was healed? The answer is easy, it is a spiritual law, what you say, you WILL get. Just like the law of sowing and reaping, this law operates, whether we believe it or not!!!

The bible so clearly states that the power of life or death lies in the tongue.

You see, when your read the email from the prayer chain, you repeat it, thus affirming the person’s calamity. Then you share it with your prayer group, even more affirmation, then you being the good christian you are pass it on to your entire address book, thus causing a whole chain of affirmations, and the only one that is gaining it the enemy. I am sure he really has a good laugh at “those suckers”.

When you receive a prayer request or email, please be careful as to how you pass it on, or share it. Here is an example of an effective prayer chain:

“Dear Friends, The facts are that Suzie Cue, has been diagnosed with brain cancer, but praise God, we know what the truth is, By the stripes of Jesus, she has already been healed of this disease. Please stand in agreement that she will stand strong in her faith, and that she will accept and confess her healing daily, even when the symptoms tries to tell her otherwise. Please agree with this prayer; “Father we thank You that Your Word says that when 2 or more on earth agree on something, and ask the Father in the name of Jesus, it will be done onto them. We now stand in agreement that Suzie Cue is healed, because Your Word says so, and that everything with a name WILL bow to the name of Jesus, NOW in the mighty name of Jesus, Cancer you loose Suzie Cue right now, you have no right in her life. We thank You Lord for her healing, in Jesus name. Amen.”


This way the only thing that you are affirming is the truth and that is her healing. The enemy loses yet again!!!

This principal stands for every aspect of our lives!!

Let’s stop advertising for the enemy, be uneffective for the kingdom of darkness, and SUPER EFFECTIVE FOR THE KINGDOM OF LIGHT!!!
