Regards from an egg donor
Hi there. I am an egg donor in South Africa and I just found this forum. Very happy to be here.
I have donated twice already. The first eggs didn't result in a pregnancy, but the lady has tried 5 times before. I feel so sorry for her. The second recipients are from Australia and although I received a very nice card from them, they elected not to tell us whether the lady was pregnant or not.
The reason I do this is that I really want children one day and since I am only 23 years old now and studying, having children now isn't an option. So I feel that if I am not using them, someone else can.
I was hoping to find more donors here, but hopefully some will show up soon.
I wish it wasn't necessary for me to donate, but sadly, there is a need and I do my best to help out.
Happy to be here!

Hi Myork!
Welcome to the forum! This section of the forum is very quiet, but hopefully it will pick up soon.
You are doing such an amazing thing! I am almost at the stage where I would have to look at donor eggs, but I still have a short while left, so will be doing IVF in the next couple of months.
If you get lonely here, come join us in the General Chatter section

AmyJill, if you ever need any help with breastfeeding, my mother is a leader for La Leche League and she would be delighted to help. If you want to contact her, let me know and I will send you her email address.

Re: Regards from an egg donor
My word, you can as though you are Heaven sent!!! It is already a well known fact on this forum that breastfeeding has now left me with a little girl who wakes up 5-10 times a night to dummy on my breast!! I usually wake up with itchy and burning breasts in the morning. She's 8 months,so she should be showing some sign of sleeping through! If your mom can help me with this,i'd probably owe her a lifetime of sleep!!

Re: Regards from an egg donor
She is in France at the moment (she attended a La Leche League conference in New York - and yes, I am very jealous ;) ), but she is always reachable on her email address. I am going to pm it to you.
She will definitely be able to help. She is an excellent problem solver with many years (and 4 kids) of experience.

Re: Regards from an egg donor
I just want to check with mommy dearest, but I will soon post a thread in the advertising space for her services.
I am sure she will be more than happy to help!
Oh, she is a Certified Lactation Consultant and is always looking for more people to help. It is her passion.
Now, I am even happier that I found this forum. My mom will be so happy!

Welcome to OPM, I agree with the rest of the ladies, what you are doing is amazing and so many women have problems, it is great if a few can help and you are one of those few. So welcome!
