Next meeting
Just received the forms for our next meeting, the first one we haven't even paid and the second one is gonna cost R3 500,
ag really, now I'm even more DOWN IN THE DUMPS... how on earth are we gonna get the money for that??????????
This whole process is driving me nuts... we will never have a baby through adoption, unless we rob a bank

Hi, new here. Have you tried cotlands they free and they don't have only terminally ill babies, but abused abandoned ect. Sure they worth a try and they won't cost you a cent. They are also extremely thorough and do all those checks.

Hi Dooi,
Sorry, I haven't completely followed your story but just curious who you are going through in terms of your adoption journey?
We also just recently adopted and the prices you quote seem quite high?

Ai Dooi, why must this be so difficult for us, good people want to give a baby a good life and they have to pay so much money, it's not fair!
Hey Bella how did you go about your adoption process if I might ask?

Re: Next meeting
Hi Lameez,
We were fortunate enough to find our own birth mother. But it was a long journey to get to that point...Child Welfare, Procare, you name it, we were there. We even at one point threw in the towel and then someone suggested fostering a child.
Even that was like pulling teeth because although there are so many kids that need foster care, yet there is so much red tape attached to it i.e. you need to live in a certain area and only then u are able to foster children that live within that area. We came across a Children's Home in CT that didn't have those restrictions and went through the process of finding a little girl (15 months old) and bonding with her and bringing her home on weekends for about 3 months. We were 1 week away from her court date in which they were to place her in our legal care (foster care), and that fell through due to religious backgrounds being different. So back to the drawing board....
We found our own birth mommy eventually but then finding a social worker who wouldn't charge exorbitant fees was another mission in itself. The fees ranged all the way up to R19 K just to finalise the adoption for us...and I did my homework luckily and found a lovely and reasonable SW who was willing to do it for a fraction of the costs. I must say in all my experiences, I have found that some (not all) so please don't quote me, but some places/ people see adoption as a money making scheme and I find it hard to digest that there are so many kids that need homes and willing couples open their homes and hearts to it and its turned into a "business" in some senses.
Anyway, we are parents to a beautioful 3 month old baby boy and we feel very blessed. But its not an easy journey at all!
