Nappy changes
ah, please I am no expect and really only learning still. Proud to say I have changed 5 nappies to date. But the Sister said once you have removed the poo nappy never take it totally away, fold to hide poo, keep under baby's bum and then proceed to clean bum. Only once you are ready to put new nappy on do you move old nappy away as babies tend to poo as soon as you take the nappy away.
Maybe you all already know this but for a new mummy like me, I appreciate all advice.

Re: Nappy changes
trust me its no fun when they decide its now time to poop and there is no nappy to catch it, especially in the early morning hours! since I placed a towl under his bum, for just in case!

Re: Nappy changes
Yup, I learned that the hard way. You'll be an expert before you know it

Re: Nappy changes
Hi, I do the same thing, as Imogen kicks so much that I struggle not to get poo everywhere. Keeping the nappy there is def the best way in my opinion.

Re: Nappy changes
I am no expert either but let me start by saying that I have learned from Keagan that the small size of a baby is NO indication of how much poo can be expelled at one given time. ALSO... I have learned that breast fed babies do not know how to make small, convenient poos that one can just fold into the nappy and proceed with the nappy change. SO.... what I do is after every change I get the changing mat ready for the next episode... in the beginning we used to use paper towel and now I just put a face cloth down or small hand towel... that way if he does decide to poo or wee I can just chuck it into the washing machine. My biggest problem at the moment is he kicks so much that it takes great skill not to get poo on his ankles, under my nails and all over the room. The joys................ but he is still too cute so can get away with it for now.
