Nina's birth.
Ok - so this is how it all happened....
Sunday night 20:30 I arrived at the hospital. On arrival they took my BP & temp & started monitoring the baby's heartbeat & my contractions - if any. As soon as the doc arrived he asked me what time my contractions started. I did not even know I was having any!!!
Anyway... at 3am I started to feel the contractions. Not dialated at all. They gave me some pain meds & at 4 started me on the drip & started prepping me for surgery. At 7 they wheeled me in & gave me the spinal. Not sore - just weird feeling... the pressure on your back feels weird - but not in a bad way. They started soon afterwards. Felt weird again - but not bad. We heard the 1st cry & my heart melted for the 1st time that day. Dh went with her to do all the checks etc while they stiched me up again. I was in ICU for about 10 mins - just to monitor the PB & to see how I reacted to the operation. Soon after I was back in my room & Dh showed me some pics of our LG. The nurses brought her in & we tried to BF for the 1st time. It's all such a blurr... all happened so fast & was so much to take in ....
I was quite sleepy from all the meds afterwards & most of the rest of that day. I remember feeling sooo overwhelmed. It's just such an emotional thing!
They gave me pethadine & voltaren injections 2 x a day for the pain. Voltaren is great but the pethadine makes you drowsy. They also gave me some stilpaine & mybulens I could use as needed.
All in all it was a great experience & not at all as bad as I expected! I'll def do a c-sec again.
