Poem my Dad wrote

Post by Mandri on Thu 4 Sep 2008 - 20:58

I would like to share a poem that my dad wrote for the twins, he just wrote it from his heart and only afterwards saw that it was actually a poem - sorry, it is in Afrikaans.

Nou sit julle by Jesus, die beste plek ooit
Sal altyd daar wees in ons gedagtes so klein so fyn

Oupa

My dad was very emotional through everything. The day after my op, he went to the car, prayed and came back to me and said: "They are in heaven with grandad now." That just made me cry even more!

I really try to be brave, but sometimes its not that easy. Like last night on Villa Rosa the lady were washing here baby clothes (she is seven months pregnant) - that made me weak, I cried a bit and now I feel much better!

Hi Mandri

That is such a special poem. i think it is just as painful for our parents to loose their grandchildren. for a man to express his emotions is also a very good sign.
When i lost my son, my father was very quiet but i could see he was in alot of pain. My brother couldnt talk to me for days.. i guess he just didnt want to break down infront of me. but they were all there by my side.

I'm so sorry about your boys. If you ever feel like talking about them please feel free to do so. and i love the names Karlo en Kean. you sound like such a lovely mommy and i pray with all my heart that you will recieve another miracle soon. :Please:
