Post by DJMommy on Thu 30 Jul 2009 - 17:07

Where are you? You have been so quiet this week! Did we scare you off at the OPM breakfast? Twisted

Hope you and the boys are ok!

Chicken! Come on aren't our twins cute???
Seriously though, what if you are in our position, of having only 3? Freezing one is as good as chucking it away, giving it up for adoption was not for us and letting it die was NO option at all. Plus, it does give you an increased chance for an actual pregnancy.

Paula, I have also warned Eve that it can be very daunting having twins on your own. Psychologically I was not prepared and am now suffering with postnatal depression. I am such a planned and organised person and had everything mapped out and NOTHING went according to plan. Well, I do have two healthy babies and for that I should be very grateful but now I am on my own as I have no maid. Second one did not work out and will be moving in with people to assist me until I am confident to handle the two of them on my own. I will now have to explore the options of a daymother or daycare.

Kerry you didn't scare us off, I think brought reality home, which was excellent! :Shocked

Your little boys were sooo cute! Crying and all!
Twins do look like hard work. But all you mothers that are mom's to twins are just amazing! I don't think you would be blessed with twins if you weren't able to cope!

Ag shame man Jolene, I am sorry you are struggling with the daycare. I must tell you that even having dh around was not much help as he is a surgeon and seldom home. I too had a spot of depression, mostly due to the fact that I was utterly unprepared for the NICU. I really believe that if it happens, one copes. I mean for all you know even one embryo may spit and become identical twins. Yes it is most definitely not nearly as easy as one baby but totally worth it. Hope you get a solution soon!!

Oh Jolene, I know what you are going through and it is not nice at all. I must say that my dh can just as well not be here and I raise the twins alone and no help from him, what so ever and it is getting to me and that doesn't help with the depression at all. You just have to start beleive that you can cope with them and handle one at a time.

I am here for you hun!!

HI

Jolene I can't imagine what it would be like ot be on my own it is tough enough as it is. I would recomend speaking to night nurses they usually know people looking for work who are good with kids and have experience. That is how we found our nanny who is brilliant at just siting and rocking Kian to sleep.

I only had 2 viable embies from 25 eggs harvested which is why I happily put them both back. But now and again I see how much esier it would be with only one (I just feel torn trying to give them both lots of love and attention. not to mention coping with the crying and feeding). But I wouldn't change them as Bel said I suppose you get what you can cope with.
