Baby Shower for soon to be adoption mummy

Post by Tammy on Wed 12 Aug 2009 - 11:50

Ladies i need some help please

We have a family member (who like the majority of us) have had a reall difficult time these last 10 years. Has tried everything and anything to fall preg and no go.

So she and her DH are on the adoption list and the last year they have had about 3 possibly then withdrawl adoptions.

The good news now is that there could be another new born in the next 2months and less!!! And it sounds promising and we all praying real hard for her and for the mum to make the right decision.

NOW THE BIG QUESTION: WHEN DO WE GIVE HER A BABY SHOWER????????

I was thinking once she actually comes home with the baby, as the mum could change her mind etc but maybe someone has been in a similar situation and could help me out please.

Thank you

I think you can arrange the baby shower once the birthmom has committed to them. Our adoptive baby is only being born in November and then there's the 60 day waiting period. But if my friends waited because they were unsure whether we're going to get the baby or not, we won't have anything for the baby! Maybe it will be best to ask your friend what she thinks? I know I would LOVE a baby shower a week or two before the baby's birth! (But maybe that's just me wink )
