OP Update:

Hey ladies,

I am back, exhausted but less emotional! Yesterday was one of the hardest days in my life!! when I walked into ICU, and saw my dad lying there, so fragile. All I could do was cry! He was suppose to go into theater @ 11:30, but only went in @ 13:30. It was very emotional when they wheeled him away! of coarse, Cecile my sister or JHB left her manners at home, both my other sister & I had a bit of a run in with her! The Dr said that the op would be 4-5 hours. We arrived back at the hospital just before 17:00 and my mom said that Dad is out of theater they are just checking the ventilator & doing chest x-rays. The Dr said that the OP was a huge success ! We checked on him, his face was a bit swollen and he was a bit of color! The nurse said that usually the patients are a bit unstable, bleeding, BP dropping, but he was stable, no bleeding, BP fine! Cecile left before they finished the OP, without saying goodbye to us( DH, Dewald & I). We went out for supper & went back to the B&B, had a good nights rest! was back at the hospital @ about 08:15, Dad was awake, ventilator removed, talking and already giving the nurses a hard time! according to him they are tooo slow! not too much pain, and everything still looking good! the Dr said that they will move him to a normal ward tomorrow & if all goes well he'll go home Saturday!Thank you so much for all the prayers!!!!

thanx girls! just spoke to my mom, dad is in slight pain cause they took him off morphine & he is now onto oral pain meds.

Thanx D! I phoned this morning and spoke to him, he is sitting up and had a short walk around the ward! Still in ICU, they will move him this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
