My PCOS TTC Story
My ttc Story,
I was diagnosed wish PCOS when I was 18, the gynae then suggested going onto a contraceptive in order to regulate me. I remember her words clearly, she said, “Going onto the contraceptive now can help when you want to have kids one day, if you not going to take anything now you’ll struggle to fall pregnant.”
I then went onto the contraceptive.
I got married when I was 22, 2003. I was married for 2 months and dh and I decided to try for a baby.
I went off the tablet and 6 months later nothing, my periods were far and in between so I knew I was the problem.
Gynae confirmed pcos again, I went for relevant blood tests and gynae prescribed metformin and fertimod to produce ovulation. It never worked, I changed gynaes, did more meds, provera to bring period, fertimod to bring ovulation timed intercourse and still nothing.
I changed gynaes again, then this gynae told me that metformin can course problems as it crosses the placenta and whatever, did more meds and times intercourse, and nothing. I then went off metformin.
2007, I went to see fs, then she was practicing at Vincent Pallotti, we done some more blood tests, still pcos with high insulin, DH done SA and 100% ok, did some more meds and timed intercourse, still -ve. She put me back onto metformin, I told her what the last gynae said and she said that they checked everything and metformin is fine during pregnancy she wouldn’t prescribe it if it wasn’t.
A few months later DH said he doesn’t like me taking all the meds, so we stopped, I still followed up with her now and then but everytime it was negative and I continued taking metformin.
In April/May this year I had a period but it was very light and didn’t want to stop, it went on for a month.
I called the fs, who was now practicing at CFC, went to see her and she discovered my lining was very thick and wasn’t breaking down.
We then decided to some meds again and timed intercourse, and whala… oh, I also told dh we’ll do 2 weeks timed intercourse as I ovulate late.
It’s so amazing, I never even expected this time it’d happen, just kept on telling dh that it’s in Gods hands, and that we’ll have our time.
TONS OF BABY DUST TO ALL
