Att: Hannah's Hope

Post by Joleen on Mon 7 Sep 2009 - 18:19

Hi, just checking to see how you are doing?

I see that you have another scan coming up?

Have you chosen a theme for your nursery?

Re: Att: Hannah's Hope

Post by Hannah's Hope on Tue 8 Sep 2009 - 20:25

We saw our beautiful boy again today!!! Here he is:

He has grown a LOT, hasn't he? Isn't he absolutely gorgeous???!!! Applaud

I actually quoted the date wrong on my previous posts, sorry!! Our appointment was today and it was absolutely WONDERFUL to see our little Jaedin again. Thumbs up 1

The birthmom was so great (again) and she allowed my hubby to watch the ultrasound with us. It was absolutely amazing and my husband is still grinning from ear to ear. Cool

I had a long conversation with the BM and I told her straight up that I needed to know if she is 100 % sure about her decision. She looked me steadily in the eyes and said: "Hannah, this is YOUR baby. Yours. I'm a surrogate mother helping a couple that can not conceive the traditional boy. I care for this little life, but I care for it from a distance. He is yours." Angel

I do not have words to explain my feelings towards this woman. She has been absolutely incredible since day one and she is an awesome example of selfless love. We are just so incredibly blessed that she has chosen us to raise 'our' baby.

Ag, I'm sorry if all of this sounds terribly soppy, it probably is. But the most unbelievable thing is that this IS my life at the moment. It feels like I'm watching somebody else's life........

I'll check in again later, the adoption forum seems to be a bit slow, but I will gladly chat to anyone or answer any questions anyone may have.

Warm regards

Our nursery

Post by Hannah's Hope on Thu 10 Sep 2009 - 12:37

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question Joleen:

We are going with a subdued Winnie the Pooh theme - lots of soft pastel colours eg powder blue, very light yellow and soft white. The nursery has a wooden floor with an antique rocking chair and a few Pooh motifs – but nothing too strong or bright. My BIL made us a few wooden and wire words e.g. ‘son’, ‘blessing’, ‘baby boy’, ‘kind’, ‘sweet’ etc. that I am going to put up together with a few very special shells my hubby and I picked up from the beach at Saldanha.

The bedding is mainly white with small Winnie the Pooh embroidery on it. I am having such a good time decorating the nursery and John helps when he gets home from work. It’s like a labour of love and every single item in the nursery has a special meaning for us. I thought it was crazy for us to undertake the ‘nursery project’ as it involved a LOT of hard work (and it’s not finished yet) but I am getting SO much satisfaction from it. Really cool!

Thanks for all the well wishes ladies, so much appreciated.

Blessings,

Hannah's Hope
